This morning I asked Claude: why are the videos I’m uploading look like crap? It responded: it’s iOS fault, when you upload a video through the camera app directly it will upload crap, and even if you use the video picker for previously recorded videos it will degrade the quality.

So, when I left my quarters and grabbed a bike to get to work I recorded a part of my commute to upload back at the office, from a file on my computer and from the iOS file picker. Let’s do the experiment:

MacOS is better but it’s still much worse from the original file I uploaded. Still investigating the issue.

Edit: I found the source of quality loss: the maximum quality was set to 1080p in bunny.net. I’ve set it to 4k.
