I just came back from my first black lotus practice and I feel compelled to comment on it. It’s difficult to assess given that it was an introductory class (first series at gray difficulty), the instructor said. She had a phenomenally built body without tattoos and a serious demeanor, and spoke about her teacher (Ty Landrum) with reverence. I like observing seriousness in practice, through I wouldn’t say I’m a serious myself. As for the practice itself, it’s what it says it is, a variant of Ashtanga.
